Systems for learning and producing knowledge, such as career and technical education (CTE), often reproduce inequities unless a deliberate, equity-focused lens is used when developing, implementing, and evaluating programs. The Equity in CTE Workgroup, an initiative of the CTE Research Network, which is led by the American Institutes for Research (AIR), has developed an Equity Framework for CTE Research to provide guidance on infusing an intentional focus on equity into research from start to finish. The framework, along with a checklist and thematic overview, addresses six research stages and includes real and hypothetical examples from CTE research. This webinar will provide a high-level overview of the framework as well as examples from the six research stages covered. The webinar will conclude with a brief Q&A. Speakers: Kathy Hughes, Ph.D., Director and Principal Investigator, CTE Research Network; Principal Researcher, AIR Emily Passias, Ph.D., Equity in CTE Workgroup, CTE Research Network; Vice President of Policy, Linked Learning Alliance Lois Joy, Ph.D., Equity in CTE Workgroup, CTE Research Network; Director of Research, JFF Who will benefit: This event is designed for education researchers who focus on CTE but may be of interest to all researchers as well as to CTE program administrators and policymakers interested in applying the information for program evaluation.
